We are a a full-service audiovisual provider which means we believe in relationships. In fact, our name, The AV Department, is a brand promise to our clients that we will be an integrated member of their event team and a valued extension of their organization. This promise comes from an understanding that given a choice clients will always chose to work with a service driven company that offers great value and is easy to do business with. We are in it for the long-run and year-after-year we want our services to make a difference to our clients, drive their content, and ultimately inspire results.

Our Service

The AV Department is a live event audiovisual company based out of Portland, Oregon. We provide AV services such as sound, projection, and lighting to hotels, venues, meeting planners, nonprofits, and corporate clients. We are experts at making the presentation side of an event a success. However, we are much more than an equipment company. In fact, more than anything we provide a culture of service, professionalism, and cost-effectiveness in an area of the event industry that needs it the most. 

Our Approach

The AV Department believes in focusing on your event and your event alone. To this end, we do one event per day with our best team every time. You will get to know us and we will get to know you.  We pride ourselves on communication and professionalism, but also on a relaxed confidence that comes from experience and sustained success.   We own our gear and bring the entire show. Because of this our team is well trained and our gear is perfectly suited for our approach. During the quote process you will notice that our all systems come in package form which means they include everything you will need. Frankly, we bring all the best stuff because that is what our techs like to use. Ultimately our approach is to compete on value and service, and we believe no other vendor in town offers such a comprehensive event system for our proposed pricing and service level. 


The true measure of success for an audiovisual company is word of mouth. To generate that sort of organic promotion requires successful events (every time), brand recognition, and strong relationship building.
